What does a typical day look like for the Windows Administrator?

Although no two days will be the same, you will:

  • Lead administration of Microsoft Windows Server and AD environment
  • Subject matter expertise for stakeholders of Windows, Exchange, AD, licensing, and other Microsoft domain ecosystem components
  • Provision and support of desktop and laptop systems (OS install, configuration, etc.)
  • Provision and maintain AD accounts, Exchange mailboxes, and VPN access
  • Configure and maintain of local and wide area networks
  • Ensure 24/7/365 availability of all systems, applications, and infrastructure
  • Configure new servers, applications, updates, and develop processes and procedures that fulfill the support of secure systems
  • Document infrastructure and internal processes/procedures
  • Troubleshoot end-user issues via phone calls, e-mail, trouble tickets, and Slack
  • Investigate and implement new technologies to support business and end-user goals
  • Implement, document, and maintain best practices for infrastructure deployment, security, and backups
  • Execute on-site, on the floor, technical and system administration support
  • Perform software installations and upgrades to Windows operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements; evaluation and installation of software/hardware patches and resolution of software related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products
  • Provide weekly status reports for team and management
  • Working with other technical and non-technical stakeholders to solve problems
  • Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of corporate IT infrastructure
  • Travel 5-20% to local and remote offices (corporate and customer) to support business goals.
  • Provide some “on-call” support for after-hours business needs

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the Windows Administrator we’re looking for if you have:

  • US Citizenship
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years of relevant experience or an associate’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with managing and supporting an active multi-user, multi-site IT infrastructure including provisioning of hardware (laptops, tablets, etc.), user accounts, VPN access, and mailboxes
  • Proficiency in administration of current Windows Server and Active Directory implementations
    • Experience with maintaining a Windows domain environment including GPO, updates, and security.
    • Experience with deployment and system patching via WSUS and SCCM. Experience with Microsoft software licensing and partnership programs (MSDN, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office365
  • Knowledge of other Windows ecosystem services including SQL Server, IIS, Exchange, etc.
  • Good knowledge of networking including physical deployment TCP/IP, routing/switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and file sharing services
  • Good knowledge of implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions across multiple sites
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies including virtual machines, containers, SDN and ESX VMWare
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting

  • Experience supporting infrastructure for a .NET web application

  • Fundamental knowledge of Linux systems administration and scripting (bash, python, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in DoD IAM, FISMA, and RMF concepts

You might be the Solutions Installation Engineer we’re looking for if you have:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4 years of total experience, 2 years of which includes Engineering or Operations experience managing and supporting applications in a Windows Environment
  • Hands-on experience with installing or operating PACS in a Federal environment
  • Proven skills in the following:
    • Supporting network, operating systems, database, application or data layers across multiple platforms and technologies

  • US Citizenship
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 12 years of total experience in the security industry, 8 years of which includes
    performing proactive federal agency ICAM architecture planning and implementation activities
  • Experience successfully interpreting and applying FIPS 201-2, HSPD-12, OMB memorandums, NIST publications (800-116-1, 800-53, 800-73-4), and CIO Council papers
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to:
    • Define standards and controls per facility type,
    • Draft Scopes of Work to be used by procurement officials for solicitations and RFIs,
    • Standardize Technical Drawing Packages,
    • Ensure standardization of equipment and configuration management, and
    • Define requirements for facility assessments and site inspections
    • Prior experience serving as a “Team Lead” for engineering resources specializing in PACS, CCTV, Networking and PIV

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the Senior PACS Design Engineer we’re looking for if you have:

  • US Citizenship
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8 years of total experience in the security industry, 6 years of which includes
    performing proactive federal agency ICAM architecture design and implementation activities
  • 2 years of recent experience using computer-aided drafting (CAD) systems to prepare or revise engineering drawings
  • Prior experience serving as a “Team Lead” for engineering resources specializing in PACS, CCTV, Networking and PIV
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to:
    • Draft Scopes of Work and Technical Drawing Packages to be used by procurement officials for solicitations and RFIs
    • Promote standardization of equipment and configuration management, and
    • Lead evaluations and assessments of highly complex projects
  • Hands-on installation, configuration and maintenance of FICAM compliant Physical Access Control Systems
  • Experience with PKI and Federal smart card technology (Personal Identity Verification cards – PIV)

We’re extra impressed by folks with:

  • Specific experience and/or certification in Identiv’s Hirsch Velocity product
  • Working knowledge of FIPS 201-2, HSPD-12, OMB memorandums, NIST publications (800-116-1, 800-53, 800-73-4), and CIO Council papers
  • IT and PACS Security Certification (e.g., Comp TIA Security+, PSP, CSEIP or CISSP)

  • Support implementation, test, and deployment of systems
  • Determine a list of potential solutions and recommendations for implementation
  • Provide technical support to nationwide Program Managers

You might be the PKI ICAM Designer we’re looking for if you have:

  • US Citizenship

  • Understanding of the Federal PKI architecture and operational environment
  • Working knowledge of current FBCA, FCPCA and DoD ECA certificate policies and certificate profiles
  • Working knowledge of Certificate Authority operations and PKI management

What does a typical day look like for the PACS Field Engineer?

Although no two days will be the same, you will:

  • Conduct facility evaluations of highly complex facilities: document the state of the current Physical Security infrastructure (e.g. PACS, CCTV, VMS, IDMS), identify deficiencies and propose corrective actions
  • Present guidance and support to Program stakeholders on installation and design challenges
  • Support implementation, test, and deployment of Physical Security systems
  • Perform periodic validation of Physical Security installations performed by third parties and issue reports on findings
  • Present guidance and support to stakeholders on Federal policies and Program Standards
  • Offer industry best practices and lessons learned from federal engagement past performance
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology
  • Be an active participant in your development along your career path
  • Most of your time will be local to the DC area, but at the request of the Program, you’ll have the opportunity to travel up to 25% of the time outside the DC area.

  • US Citizenship
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4 years of total experience in the security industry, 2 years of which includes performing proactive federal agency ICAM architecture design and implementation activities
  • Hands-on installation, configuration, and maintenance of FICAM compliant Physical Access Control Systems
  • Experience with PKI and Federal smart card technology (Personal Identity Verification cards – PIV)

We’re extra impressed by folks with:
